VISIONEER GmbH
VISIONEER GmbH is a start-up company that has developed a tool based on an innovative method to set a new standard in requirement engineering.
The VISIONEER-Method is securing the required requirement-characteristics of the ISO/IEC/IEEE 29148:2018(E), in which requirements shall be:
- Complete
- Unambiguous
- Consistent
- Unique → Reusability according to the single-source-of-truth (SSOT)
- Testable
- Necessary → Traceable
- Feasible
- Appropriate
- Correct
- Conforming
To achieve this, textual requirements shall be defined with simple syntax rules and classified into different requirement types. Hence, type-specific RE activities are expected, which can be automatically verified, if they are performed in the specifications. E.g., in a system specification for each conditional-requirement, any of its input conditions shall be linked with a signal defined in the input-interface-specification and additionally each of the input signal states must be used in other conditional-requirements.
The Method is providing for each of the requirement-characteristics a predefined set of
- Criteria to fulfill each of the characteristics
- Specific Measures that shall be implemented in the specifications therefore
- Test-routines which are executed by the VISIONEER-Tool and automatically create the Evidence for a correct implementation of each Measure
E.g. an example process to verify the consistency of requirement specifications:
Criteria: Reused specification-artifacts (template-instances) shall have consistent structures
Measure: It shall be verified, if all templates-instances shall contain all mandatory template elements and all optional elements are regarded

In a first (ADAS) pilot-project, in summary about 150 test-routines (!!!) are created, which are executed nightly. So, every day a report about requirement-characteristics implementation is automatically created. By this, enormous manpower can be saved, which would be necessary by performing it manually.
The Visioneer Tool is a script-based add-on currently for Intlands CODEBEAMER but shall also be available for Rational DOORS and Siemens POLARION soon. It contains all test-routines for the integrated requirement-specifications-in-the-loop-test, inclusive supplement functions therefore, e.g. a model- and interface-import from architecture tools and an automated test execution and report creation.
VISIONEER additionally provides a generic system kit for embedded systems and consulting and training services for the method, the tool and the system-kit. The VISIONEER engineering team has wide automotive experiences in multiple engineering roles and are specialists for Systems- and Requirement-Engineering and -Architecture.
