Scope of the Product DESIRe is a software tool helping a person to improve his/her requirements specification document. DESIRe does not improve requirements specifications documents automatically. DESIRe does not measure the quality of requirements. =========================================================== 2. System Requirements DOORS Client 7.1 or later versions. DESIRe was tested under Windows XP Service Pack 2 using DOORS version 7.1, 8.1, 8.2, 8.3, 9.1 and 9.2. =========================================================== 3. Installation DESIRe is available as a zip file. After extracting the zip file the DESIRe software will be stored in a folder named "DESIRe". Additionaly the "List of Words" modules archive (currently English and German versions available) and this readme file will be extracted. =========================================================== 3.1 Installation of the DESIRe Software Copy the "DESIRe" folder to directory lib\dxl\addins\ in your DOORS home directory. e.g. C:\Program Files\Telelogic\DOORS_8.1\lib\dxl\addins\ C:\Program Files\IBM\Rational\DOORS\9.2\lib\dxl\addins\ DESIRe has been installed successfully if the menu entry DESIRe is available if you have opened a formal DOORs module. =========================================================== 3.2 Installation of the "List of Words" The zip file contains the "List of Words" as DOORS module archive. Currently English ("ListOfWords_EN.dma") and German ("ListOfWords_DE.dma") versions available. Restore the module archive in an arbitrary location in your DOORS database. The archive can be restored by selecting File --> Restore --> Module from the menu bar of the DOORS database browser. For further information about how to restore module archives in DOORS please consult the DOORS help. =========================================================== 3.3 Start DESIRe Open a formal module in DOORS. Click menu item "Start..." from the DESIRe menu. =========================================================== 3.4 Uninstall DESIRe To uninstall DESIRe you have to remove the DESIRe folder from the addins directory. =========================================================== 4. Release Notes 4.1 Features - DESIRe uses a "List of Words" module which is a knowledge database that contains technical verbs, nouns and indicational words. - DESIRe identifies words from the working specification module and displays questions, optional questions and hints to the identified word in the DESIRe user interface. - The user can select a "List of Words" module in the DESIRe menu. - DESIRe offers to edit the "List of Words" module in the DESIRe menu. =========================================================== 4.2 Important changes - Not only words ending with ",.;!?" can be found but also words using brackets "()[]{}" in the requirements will be analysed. So, the variants of such a word do not require to add explicitly in the column "Word variants" of the LoW. =========================================================== 4.3 Test conditions DESIRe was tested under Windows XP Service Pack 2 using DOORS version 7.1, 8.1, 8.2, 8.3, 9.1 and 9.2. =========================================================== 4.4 Fixed bugs - The word ending with a tab character in the requirements will be analysed. =========================================================== 4.5 Known Problems - P-1: Changes in OLE objects can get lost. DO NOT CHANGE OLE OBJECTS FROM THE DESIRE GUI! If an OLE object is changed from the DESIRe GUI, the change is written back to the DOORS object only if the requirement's text of the object has also changed or the user presses the "Apply" button.
