A significant success factor in introducing or improving requirements engineering (RE) in an organisation is the empowerment and motivation of those employees involved in requirements.
The skills that individual employees need varies according to the roles that they have in the organisation. Because of our employees many years' of practical experience, we are also able to offer you a wide range of training courses and workshops for the various roles involved in dealing with requirements and their associated artefacts. We will develop an individual training concept for your staff with you.
We offer a large number of training courses on a variety of topics in the area of requirements. This includes both courses in writing good requirements, as well as training in the use of requirements management tools. In addition to our training courses, we also offer workshops. The main focus of such workshops is interaction with the participants. So that you can apply what you have learned directly in your everyday work, HOOD Workshops are characterised by fewer slides, with more specific exercises and examples instead. As part of these workshops, we regularly offer new and very specialised topics for dealing with requirements.
Here you can find out more about HOOD Training leading to Certified Professional for Requirements Engineering (CPRE) status, in accordance with the syllabuses of the International Requirements Engineering Board (IREB®) e.V.
The IREB aims at providing a certification model with syllabi and exams and thus fostering further education within requirements engineering. In the end, the intention is to improve requirements engineering and business analysis in practice. The IREB® Certification Model consists of three subsequent levels. For each level certain syllabi are defined, which are focused on industry needs and based on academic fundamentals.
We offer all CPRE training either as in-house courses at your company's premises, or as part of our public training courses.

The Foundation Level comprises basic knowledge in the areas of elicitation, analysis, specification, documentation, validation and management of requirements. An key element of HOOD Trainings is this three-day methodology workshop.

Another way to acquire the necessary basic knowledge for the examination is with our web-based eLearning certification course.
You can also book a combination of classroom training and eLearning: our eLearning package will allow you to prepare for attending a training course and the examination.
In the unlikely event of you not passing the examination after completing classroom training, you will receive free access to the eLearning package.
The Advanced Level (AL) has a modular format, where the individual AL certificates are treated as self-contained subsets of requirements engineering. A prerequisite for AL certification is the successful completion of Foundation Level certification.
The certification examination takes place directly after a training course, at our offices. This applies to the CPRE Foundation Level and Advanced Level. The Advanced Level also requires the completion of an assignment, in addition to the examination.
We will also be pleased to organise the examination as part of your in-house training course.

In dealing with requirements management tools, it is not necessary to train all staff affected to the same extent. We offer a range of practical tool training courses for various user groups, which is based on the many years experience of our staff. We also take into account the requirements levels your company has defined, together with the types of requirements and procedures, and your processes and methods. This approach ensures that, for example, a user of the tool (as opposed to an administrator) only needs to master a part of the tool environment and the steps which are important to him or her. This is often possible in a few hours.
