REConf

Welcome to the REConf 2025 website.

REConf (Requirements Engineering Conference) is Europe's leading conference focussing on requirements engineering. Here, new methods, trends and tools are discussed and presented in lectures, panel discussions and workshops.

In 2025, the REConf took place on 5-7 May with the theme ‘Next Level Requirements Engineering’.

Thank you very much for your active participation. Thank you for the many exciting discussions and the enthusiasm that everyone brought to the topic!

You can find the PDF slides for the presentations released by the speakers in the respective entry in the agenda.

We already agreed on #gerneperdu among the participants at REConf 2022. That's why we keep it that way on the REConf page and address you as ‘you’.

The next REConf with the motto ‘RE / der Dirigent des Systems Engineering’ will take place on 27-29 April 2026 in Munich.

Next Level Requirements Engineering

Digital disruption describes the replacement of many existing business models and technologies with innovations. It is not just a remarkable phenomenon, but also one of the key challenges for companies in all sectors. Digitalisation is changing our world more radically and faster than any previous technology trend.

So how must requirements engineering evolve in the context of these changes in order to  provide crucial support in this rapidly changing world of developments?

Traditionally, requirements engineering has focussed on the questions of “what” and “how”: “What is the right product” and “How will the development of this product be implemented?”

Both functionality and costs are part of the development goals. They form the basis for real innovations that arise from customer understanding, potential solutions, requirements, concepts and architectures.

Today, however, AI and automation are revolutionising numerous software tools and use cases, and thereby shaping our work. It is therefore essential to focus on the actual core. Really understanding customer needs, dealing with fast and constant feedback, and adapting accordingly as an organisation – that is the “new” DNA.
