Especially in requirements engineering we frequently expect our dialogue partner to provide all necessary information. Should it later become obvious (i.e. during the pilot phase) that important product functionalities are not available as desired, we are annoyed, since information had been held back. We disclaim any responsibility on our side.
Are we really not responsible in such a case? Are only our dialogue partners "at fault” for the calamity? What could we have done to get all necessary information? Which part had our own behaviour and our own attitude (i.e. towards our dialogue partner)?
In a mix of theory and practice, we will attend to this and further questions around the "human factor” in requirements engineering and requirements management.
This training is addressed to requirements engineers and requirements managers and imparts tangible tools for the daily use, which pave the way to success.

The participants:

  • understand, which influence they themselves have on the quality of the requirements they elicitated
  • can assess their dialogue partner and adapt their own behaviour to carry out requirements engineering as efficiently as possible
  • know how to handle "complex" dialogue partners and which role they themselves take on in that particular situation
  • know the fundamentals, to efficiently and thoroughly elicitate requirements, even under "complex” conditions

  • Fundamentals of the solution oriented approach
  • Interpretation of the body language of dialogue partners and calibration to create a positive conversation atmosphere
  • Understanding of the own behaviour patterns and of those of the dialogue partners, by using the findings of a behaviour profile analysis (i.e. DISG).
  • Use of effective questioning techniques to find out what one wants to know
  • Motivation of dialogue partners and of oneself, to guarantee a concentrated elicitation of requirements
  • Securing the support of " complex " dialogue partners and finding a solution for conflicts
  • Improvement of communication

  • Experience in requirements engineering or requirements management
  • Requirements managers
  • Requirements engineers
  • In this training the participants learn how decisive the softskills are for requirements professionals.
