Project Structuring Workshop
Practice Workshop – Three to Five days
The Project Structuring Workshop provides a foundation for the creation of a robust, extensible database structure that will meet the information management needs of a program or organisation. With this in mind, knowledge of the product development process utilised by the program or organisation is a must in order to ensure the success of the workshop. The structure of an effective database should "mirror" the corresponding product development process, providing a useful repository for engineering, product, and process data that will assist in reducing costs throughout the life cycle of the product.
Requirements Management is a very powerful and flexible methodology to control the system and software development process and to organize all relevant project data. Because of the high flexibility of this approach careful planning is key for using this methodology and makes it an appropriate tool in larger projects.
The basis for the successful implementation of Requirements Management and accompanying tools is a robust project data structure. This data structure must be able to handle the current needs of the projects and it must be extensible for future needs of projects. With the support of an experienced consultant, project teams with little or no experience in Requirements Management can be quickly helped to put such a structure for their project data together.
