The Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) guides you in improving your organization’s processes. CMMI provides a structure that helps your organization assess its organizational maturity or capability in different process areas, define the priorities for improvement, and implement these improvements.

The HOOD Group supports you in achieving the necessary process capability and organizational maturity for the CMMI level you aim at. Several successful implementation projects in the areas Requirements Management and Engineering, Supplier Integration, Change Management, and Project Management show the experience of HOOD in process implementation, from which also your organization can benefit.

Our approach for implementation comprises an analysis of the current status and identification of problems, the definition of appropriate measures for achieving the targeted CMMI level and solving the identified problems, and the application of the defined measures in the relevant organizational entities.

Analyzing the current status shows which problems the projects have in performing the processes and which processes are already performed well. Strengths and weaknesses are identified that provide the basis for a user-oriented process improvement strategy.

On the basis of this analysis measures are defined that support the achievement of the targeted CMMI level and generate a benefit for the users as well. The customer and HOOD decide together which measures can be realistically realized within the given schedule and budget constraints.

The measures are introduced in the appropriate organizational entities through coaching and seminars. The users are continuously supported in the application of the measures through project-coaching and training on the job.

During the implementation HOOD specifically pays attention to the integration and synchronization of the different process areas.

This approach is iterative, i.e. it is applied several times during the implementation initiative. In the first phase a small number of pilot projects is used to identify the problems and improvement potential. The objective is to achieve early successes and realize immediate benefits for the users, which supports the acceptance of the new processes and methods. In the second phase the process improvement is introduced to a larger part of the organization.
