HOOD Group celebrates the first birthday of DESIRe® and says thank you with an upgrading of the compatibility.
Munich, 15 May 2008. HOOD Group, the leading consultancy in the field of Requirements Management and Engineering, takes a positive stock of DESIRe® one year after the initial publication. DESIRe®, which is free of charge, enables authors of specifications to improve the quality of their requirements and is being favored in large as well as in small companies.
Already one year after the publication of its first free product DESIRe® 1.0, HOOD Group presented to its customers an upgraded compatibility in June 2007. Upon the request of many customers DESIRe® 1.1 has been extended for the use with various DOORS®-versions, as well as for different versions of the “classical“ Requirements Management tool Microsoft WORD®.
As of now the following product versions are supported:
Product | Versions | Operating System Requirements |
DESIRe® 1.1 for WORD® | Microsoft Word 2002 Microsoft Word 2003 Microsoft Word 2007 | Windows XP |
| Microsoft Word 2007 | VISTA |
DESIRe® 1.1 for DOORS® | Telelogic DOORS® 8.1, 8.2 and 8.3 | Windows XP |

According to DESIRe®-inventor Frank Stöckel, Principal Consultant with HOOD Group, customers confirm their acceptance by mail or direct contact. The list of ideas, requests and requirements, which is thus transmitted to HOOD Group, is rapidly growing.
„The demand for customised, company specific adaptation within the frame of the DESIRe® Start-Up package increasingly occupies the HOOD Software Division. Adaptations within a smaller order frame can usually be completed within 10 days of working effort, so that the demand of several of our customers for customised requirements to DESIRe® could already be satisfied at short notice.“ declares Karsten Krennrich, head of HOOD Software Division.
DESIRe® is still available for free download on the webpage of HOOD Group (DESIRe.HOOD-Group.com). Besides the upgraded compatibility, there are further small improvements of the existing DESIRe® 1.1 versions. In DESIRe® 1.1 for WORD® for example, the navigation in spread sheets has been improved. (Details are to be found in current README-files).
Currently a new DESIRe® Version 2.0 with further functions is in planning, which will probably be available within the 3. or 4. quarter 2008. Requirements, requests and suggestions are appreciated. The realization within other Requirements Management tools and also modelling tools is under discussion.
