The 2nd Subversion Conference will take place in Munich from 14th to 16th October 2008. Joint organisers are again the HOOD Group, the iX-Magazine from the Heise Publishing House and HLMC Events GmbH. Since Subversion 1.5 has increasingly established itself and important functionalities such as Merging and Tracking have been included, the SubConf 2008 will show which further measures have been planned by the community.  We are pleased to be able to welcome some of the Core committers of Subversion in Munich.

The call for papers for the SubConf 2008 has begun – we are especially looking for reports from users, who have experience with Subversion 1.5 as well as for presentations from companies, which have made a migration to Subversion.

Furthermore the SubConf will get an affiliated conference which will take place parallel at the same venue

The  CMConf 2008 - Configuration, Change and Version Management Conference

Participants of the SubConf 2008 may attend the presentations at the CMConf 2008 free of charge and vice versa.

The  CMConf 2008 - Configuration, Change and Version Management Conference - takes place simultaneously to the already established SubConf 2008. It is as well being organized by the HOOD Group, the Heise Publishing House and HLMC Events GmbH. The target of CMConf is to offer a platform for discussion to participants who wish to get further training in methods and process techniques.

Topics:

• Integration of configuration management with change and project management
• Process integration with other development processes (collaboration)
• Strategies for product lines
• Characteristics of processes, metrics and comparability as well as decision guidance (PPM)
• Residual optimisation in configuration management (tool migration and method improvement)

The CMConf is aimed at staff of software and hardware development, especially all those who have to work together over dispersed locations.

One main aspect of the CMConf is thereby on the methodic approach to the introduction or changes of methods and processes.  A further emphasis is on the reports of experiences of large dispersed companies, which can already share positive (but also negative) experiences.

The  CMConf 2008 is completed by a common exhibition with the SubConf 2008, as well as with some workshops to introduce the topic.

In large, world wide operating corporate groups, the application of Requirements Management & Engineering is a substantial component for the successful development of complex products, services and systems. Industrial sectors such as air and space, telecommunication and automotive have been profiting for a considerable time from the increase of efficiency by the application of RM&E methods. You can get some impressions of the last REConf here!

The convention to this subject is already taking place for the eighth time. This conference offers a further consolidation for interested parties, who are already using RM&E. But we would like as well to give participants from other areas, where the topic is not as common yet, the possibility to get information on methods, successes and obstacles. The topic of the REConf 2009 is Requirements Management – an integral part of system and software development!  This refers to the methodic as well as to the tool-technical side. Soon you will find here the Call for Papers, in which we specifically request the submission of presentations concerning that aspect.

The REConf is done in two parts: two workshop days on 9 and 12 March 2009 and in two conference days on 10 to 11 March 2009, accompanied by an exhibition of tool manufacturers and service companies.  Meanwhile the “Long Night of the Sciences”, which is again taking place during the REConf in the evening of the 9 March has become a tradition. Here universities and other research institutes report on new trends in requirements management.
