Company History

HOOD Consulting was founded by Colin Hood in 1987. HOOD provided Requirements Management workshops, trainings and consultancy as self-employed consultant. He has seen control systems develop from systems built from relays, through Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC's), into modern software driven systems.

In 2000 the HOOD Group was founded consisting of HOOD Limited in Northampton, England and the German subsidiary HOOD GmbH in Munich.

The HOOD Group - which has grown continually since its founding - advises and coaches notable companies as Alcatel, BMW, DaimlerChrysler, Hella, Interpolis, Miele and VW in Requirements Management and Engineering (RM&E) and provides support for process improvement initiatives such as CMMI and SPICE.

Since 2002 the HOOD Group organizes the REConf conference which is one of the most important and largest Requirements Management and Engineering events in Germany. The REconf plays an important role in the significant growth of this field.

In 2005 the HOOD Software Development Division was founded to expand the HOOD Group business activities. The Software Development Division offers our customers support for their processes through the extension of their RM&E infrastructure by providing tailored software solutions.
